Shoulder Straps

These two shoulder straps attach the chest to the upper back pieces. They are merely decoration to cover the nylon straps that are actually holding the costume together.

Special Sculpting Techniques: This part looks a lot easier than it is. I used clay to build an arch structure as shown in the first figure above. I then pushed small pieces of dowel rod into the clay to create the desired bumpy effect. This proved to be very difficult to remove the parts from the plaster mold. I probably should have done the entire model in wood.
